Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is official, comes with Android 1.6, new UX platform and more
Unwired View —
Sony Ericsson’s first Android phone is now finally official and it’s called Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 – not Xperia X3 and neither Rachael.
The X10 will run Android 1.6 Donut (why not Android 2.0?), coming with a new UX (user experience) platform that we’ve seen before. This UX platform should provide a unique user experience, as it’s “combining best-in-class entertainment features with signature applications, unrivalled integration of social media services and a rich graphical user interface.”
As previously rumored, the Xperia X10 is based on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor – being the second ...

Sony Ericsson officially launch the Xperia X10 microsite
Android Authority —
Sony Ericsson has released the “whatsnext” microsite , a portal for more information on the now official Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. The website adds a few new images of the X10 along with a promotional life-style video that demonstrates the kind of audience they’re after. In all honesty, we gain little extra information from the website than what we had already pieced together ourselves. Everything is now just presented officially in the high-gloss finish we would expect from an outfit like SE. Nonetheless, some of the feature points that Sony Ericsson are pushing including Timescape™, Mediascape and automatic face recognition of your five ...

Xperia X10 – The Android Device We’ve Been Waiting For?
Mashable! —
Sony Ericsson’s first two smartphones from the Xperia series, although packing some powerful hardware, were not what we’ve hoped they will be, and I dare say it’s due to one reason only: they were based on Windows Mobile OS.
Third time’s the charm, they say, and it just might be the case with the latest device from the series, Xperia X10. Today, Sony Ericsson released official specifications and photos of the final product; judging from those, it might be the Android device that’ll give iPhone and Nokia a run for their money.
First, there are the specifications. A huge, 4-inch capacitive ...

Xperia X10 Looks Nice Now, But You’ll Have to Wait for It
jkOnTheRun —
Sony Ericsson officially unveiled their first Android device, and as expected, you almost can’t tell it runs Android. The Xperia X10 uses the UX platform, which sits on top of the base Android platform, much like HTC’s Sense UI. Based on watching the X10 video, the interface looks as fluid as we’ve seen through leaks and teasers in the past. I even wonder if SE had to wait for Qualcomm’s 1 GHz Snapdragon, because I’m not sure UX would be as smooth on older processor architecture. That’s simply a guess on my part, however.

Sony Ericsson announces XPERIA X10 Android handset
Krunker —
Sony Ericsson finally jumps on the Android bandwagon with yesterday’s announcement of the upcoming XPERIA X10 handset – their first phone to deliver Sony Ericsson’s new user experience (UX) platform built on top of the Android OS. Sigh.. another Android phone I just might be lusting after.
The introduction of the X10 also brings with it two new “signature” applications – Mediascape and Timescape. Timescape manages all of your communications within a single application – whether its emails, text messages, status updates with Twitter, Facebook etc. Mediascape is a centralized application for music, photos, and videos ...

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Promo

Here’s another video from Sony Ericsson of the Xperia X10’s interface, which could possibly rival the HTC Hero’s Sense UI if it isn’t overcome by its own flashiness. The columns of scrolling contacts, cover art, and and applications are interesting but busy. Thank goodness the X10 is powered by the Snapdragon 1GHz processor to handle all the pretty flash of Sony’s Rachel UI. The large four-inch display, 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash, and expandable memory definitely make this an Android device to almost rival the Motorola Droid, despite the Droid’s impressive 16 GB internal storage. One of the features I liked best on the HTC Hero, and what looks to ...
