AT&T “Sets the Record Straight” with 2 New Anti-Verizon Commercials
TiPb - The #1 iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch blog —
AT&T has just revealed two new commercials that again, take aim at Verizon. Did you really expect anything different? Both of these new ads star Luke Wilson just like the “Side by Side” commercial that debuted last week. As you can see above, “Two Phones” concentrates on the fact that you need two phones to talk and surf the Web at the same time unlike on the AT&T network. To be fair, AT&T left out the fact Verizon customers could actually use WiFi if the phone supported it. We’re just saying…

AT&T continues to counter Verizon claims as Apple enters ad fray
AppleInsider —
By Neil Hughes Published: 01:55 PM EST Apple Monday night will debut new ads that tout the ability of the iPhone to browse the Web and handle calls at the same time, as AT this weekend continued to expand its advertising campaign that aims to "set the record straight" about its coverage. Apple's two new TV spots show off the iPhone receiving e-mails and checking movie times while on a phone call. AT 's GSM network allows simultaneous voice and data connections, which Verizon's CDMA network does not. According to BusinessWeek , the two ads will debut Monday evening during the shows "House" on Fox, "Dancing With the Stars" on ...
Apple Joins AT&T to Counter Verizon - Launches New Ad Campaign
iPhone Hacks —
The new iPhone ads which went on air yesterday evening showcase one of the superior features of the iPhone on AT&T not available on other phones in the market (read Motorola Droid on Verizon ) which is the ability to simultaneously access voice and data connections. The ads talk about real life scenarios like talking to your client while reading their email, or shopping online while talking to your wife where you may access the internet while on the call. The ads aptly end with the lines - "Can your phone and your network do that?". Also earlier this week, AT&T continued its drab counter-attack on Verizon with yet another ad ...
AT&T gets Luke Wilson to hit Verizon again
Technically Incorrect —
If you thought that AT had hurriedly cobbled together one Luke Wilson ad in its attempt to redress the rather crooked balanced created by the latest Verizon ads, well, here's an ad for that. Or several. Curiously, one ad features precisely the same strategy as that of the latest iPhone advertising : reminding those who might still be on the fence, on the phone, or even on the lam that you can't simultaneously enjoy voice and Web surfing on the Verizon 3G network--and hence on the Motorola Droid. So here we have Luke Wilson, still looking a little peaky and dressed in a difficult brown. Behind Luke, we have a man trying to use two ...
Top 5 Worst Celebrity Technology Endorsements
ZiggyTek Blog —
Nothing (other than sex and violence) sells technology like celebrities. This top 5 worst list includes products that are just terrible (Shaq Fu), commercials that are plainly awful (Microsoft), and advertisements that are nonsensical:
1 - Microsoft -
Microsoft and Jerry Seinfeld? This was a partnership that made even less sense than the horrible two ads that ensued. The ads were unfunny and boring, so they were quickly pulled from the air, but not before costing Microsoft a reported $10 million in fees to Seinfeld. By the way, Jerry had a Macintosh during his ...
