I was pretty skeptical about Kohjinsha's dual 10.1-incher when I first wrote about it, but it actually looks decently engineered in this video. The second display simply slides out behind the first, like on GScreen's Spacebook and Lenovo's W700. It's slightly thicker than a normal netbook, but the insides are pretty much the same: Windows 7, 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor, maximum 4GB RAM, and 160GB hard disk. How battery life would be affected remains to be seen.

I actually like this idea. Kohjinsha recently showed off its dual-display 10-inch netbook, which runs Windows 7 atop an AMD Athlon NeoMV-40 CPU at 1.6GHz. The machine can be used as a netbook with a standard 10-inch display (it’s a swivel, screen) or a second 10-inch display can be slid out from behind the first to be used together for double the desktop real estate.

Earlier this month, we got our first glimpse at the Kohjinsha dual-display netbook. This is a wholly different kind of product that the rest of the Dell Minis and Eee PCs of the world, because it comes with a pair of 10.1-inch widescreen displays. Based on this video, it looks pretty useful too.
In case you didn’t catch it the first time around, the Kohjinsha dual-display netbook gets powered by an AMD Athlon MV-40 (1.6GHz) processor and the Kohjinsha rep says that this product would not have been possible without this chipset. When working on a netbook you often run in to the problem of not having enough screen estate. To tackle this problem a company have created a dual-screen netbook that allows you to view two 10.1 inch screens side by side that then slide one behind the other when not needed. By giving you an extra screen you get more screen estate, thus making your work on a netbook a little more productive.
Examples of usage could be putting an Excel spreadsheet on the left screen while taking notes on the right screen, or perhaps browsing on one screen while watching a video on the second.

The Kohjinsha netbook is only a prototype, but a video has surfaced that shows how the thing works. The design is very well done, with one screen that slides behind the other. The notebook can thus be used as a normal netbook with one 10.1-inch screen, or as a dual-screen device with the other 10.1-inch screen extended.
