Dual Screen Netbook Concept Actually Looks Pretty Good in Action [NetBooks]
Gizmodo — I was pretty skeptical about Kohjinsha's dual 10.1-incher when I first wrote about it, but it actually looks quite practical in this video. The second display simply slides out behind the first, like on GScreen's Spacebook and Lenovo's W700. ...

Dual Screen Netbook Concept Actually Looks Practical [NetBooks]
Gizmodo — I was pretty skeptical about Kohjinsha's dual 10.1-incher when I first wrote about it, but it actually looks decently engineered in this video. The second display simply slides out behind the first, like on GScreen's Spacebook and Lenovo's W700. It's slightly thicker than a normal netbook, but the insides are pretty much the same: Windows 7, 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor, maximum 4GB RAM, and 160GB hard disk. How battery life would be affected remains to be seen. ...

SlashGear — Remember Kohjinsha’s nifty dual-display netbook from CEATEC, that sandwiched two 10.1-inch displays together for some extra-wide Windows 7 productivity?  Another video of the netbook in action has emerged, courtesy of DigInfo, and if the sight of beautifully engineered sliding LCD panels makes you weak at the knees, well, sit down before you hit the jump. Video demo after the cut The Kohjinsha prototype – made by Inventec – uses an AMD Athlon NeoMV-40 processor with up to 4GB of RAM, and as you can see briefly in the video the display is not only made up of two panels but hinged so it can ...

Video: Kohjinsha dual-display netbook
CrunchGear — I actually like this idea. Kohjinsha recently showed off its dual-display 10-inch netbook, which runs Windows 7 atop an AMD Athlon NeoMV-40 CPU at 1.6GHz. The machine can be used as a netbook with a standard 10-inch display (it’s a swivel, screen) or a second 10-inch display can be slid out from behind the first to be used together for double the desktop real estate. There’s no firm release date or pricing, except to say that the company wants to launch the product by the end of the year with a target price of less than 100,000 Yen. That’s around $1100 US, which is far more than ...

Liliputing — You know that crazy dual-screen Kohjinsha netbook prototype that we showed you earlier this month? Video Demo: Kohjinsha Dual-Display Netbook Concept
Mobile Magazine — Earlier this month, we got our first glimpse at the Kohjinsha dual-display netbook. This is a wholly different kind of product that the rest of the Dell Minis and Eee PCs of the world, because it comes with a pair of 10.1-inch widescreen displays. Based on this video, it looks pretty useful too. In case you didn’t catch it the first time around, the Kohjinsha dual-display netbook gets powered by an AMD Athlon MV-40 (1.6GHz) processor and the Kohjinsha rep says that this product would not have been possible without this chipset. There’s also 4GB of RAM, a 160GB SATA hard drive, and Windows 7. The second display slides out ...

Dual Screen Netbook Concept Captured on Video
Gadget Venue — When working on a netbook you often run in to the problem of not having enough screen estate. To tackle this problem a company have created a dual-screen netbook that allows you to view two 10.1 inch screens side by side that then slide one behind the other when not needed. By giving you an extra screen you get more screen estate, thus making your work on a netbook a little more productive. Examples of usage could be putting an Excel spreadsheet on the left screen while taking notes on the right screen, or perhaps browsing on one screen while watching a video on the second. The netbook doesn’t look as flimsy as I expected from what I ...

Kohjinsha Dual Screen Netbook on Video
jkOnTheRun — Remember that netbook we showed you a while back that had two screens for doubling your viewing pleasure? The Kohjinsha netbook is only a prototype, but a video has surfaced that shows how the thing works. The design is very well done, with one screen that slides behind the other. The notebook can thus be used as a normal netbook with one 10.1-inch screen, or as a dual-screen device with the other 10.1-inch screen extended. Take a look at the video and see if you’d find this a workable solution for those who need a wide screen. (Netbook News via Liliputing)

Video: Kohjinsha Dual-display Netbook Prototype in Action
Maximum PC all RSS Feed — If you’ve ever tried to get any amount of real work done on a netbook, you know how frustrating it can be. One of the biggest barriers to regular netbook use is the undersized low-resolution LCD they come equipped with. In a recent demo at CEATEC Japan, Kohjinsha showed off their prototype dual screen netbook. In what was probably the biggest shocker of the show, it actually looks good. When closed, the Kohjinsha netbook looks like any 10.1 inch unit. It doesn’t even look terribly bulky. In the video we can see a smooth sliding mechanism at work that folds out the displays symmetrically. This little beauty sports an AMD ...

8 Innovative Dual-Display Devices
TidBITS: Mac News for the Rest of Us — I'm a huge proponent of secondary displays to increase productivity - the more you can see, the easier it is to move from task to task and to complete tasks that require referencing one resource while working in another application. But laptops and ebook reading devices have historically had trouble providing particularly large screens; after all, the larger the screen, the less portable the device. One way to increase screen real estate without relying on a single large display is to build in a second display, something that a number of companies have been trying to do recently, with varying levels of success. Honestly, I can't see Apple adopting any of ...
