The Cythbot combines a camera with a vision processing system and pneumatic fingers to create a robot that can play the popular Guitar Hero video game by itself.
The Cythbot is not a single humanoid robot but instead a collection of components cleverly patched together to create an automated device that can read the notes flowing on a screen and play it--mimicking what a gamer can do with the title.

Robots playing Guitar Hero are not new; one playing the game with up to 98 percent precision is, however. Wired found the Cythbot, a creation of southern California engineering firm Cyth Systems , at this week's Robo developers conference in Santa Clara. It's not actually for sale. Just because. Yup, that’s kinda what the Cythbot is all about, which is being a kick ass Guitar Hero player. Ok, so it’s actually a bit more about robotics but beyond that it can play the crap out of Guitar Hero. Using a combination of a camera, computer and “pneumatic fingers” fingers, the Cythbot is able to read the on screen queues - in this case it’s the colored Guitar Hero buttons - and play them accordingly.
