Create Holiday Art at Google Docs [Friday Fun]

Four Googlers show off their artistic skills as well as Google Docs' collaboration capabilities in the time-lapse video above of a spreadsheet holiday art project. Hit the play button to watch them fill in an 100 row by 186 column spreadsheet with 18 colors to make a detailed holiday snowflake pattern. (The eagle-eyed will notice that at least one of the authors was not using Google's own browser, Chrome it looks like Firefox on the Mac.) Hit the link below to grab the template and make your own.

Tis the season to be artsy: Four Google people worked simultaneously on a Google spreadsheet to create a large 100 row x 186 column mosaic. Each of the 18,600 cells was filled with color out of a 18 hue palette. Cyber writes - Some enterprising folks over at Google have collaborated via Google Documents to create holiday art using cells in a spreadsheet as the pixels. A time delay video was taken and is available over at YouTube and the result is pretty spectacular. More info on how they did this is available behind the scenes. They're inviting people to share their own masterpieces or post a video response over on YouTube.

One of the genres in Internet virals I dig is the artsy scene. People painting the Mona Lisa in MS Paint, life-like airbrush pics of celebs on DeviantArt, or a billion-dollar company publishing a video about spreadsheet art.
