YouTube released a directory of sites which make use of the YouTube API. (A similar gallery is also available for Google App Engine based sites for some time now.) YouTube offers a couple of APIs; for instance, using the Chromeless Player developers can go beyond simple YouTube embedding, and play videos using specific start and end times or customize the player look.
