Gizmodo's Mark Wilson tested Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron Mini 12 with 1GB RAM. With Aero deactivated, the Start menu appeared right up, Firefox took about 3.5 seconds to open and light multitasking was smooth enough. The computer was by no means fast, but it was reasonably functional. However, it struggled a bit with both both full screen Flash video and XviD clips. Still overall it was much faster than Vista and that's the good news.
