Toshiba presents in Europe its G450, which is an HSDPA modem, a mobile phone, an MP3 player and also a USB drive. The G450 supports UMTS 2100MHz, HSDPA (7.2Mbps), GSM 900/1800/1900, GPRS/EDGE mobile network systems.
Powered by Qualcomm MSM6280 chipset with 160GB internal memory. The Toshiba G450 has a 96×39 OLED display, and a mini USB 2.0 connector. It supports playback of MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ audio formats.
The Toshiba G450 is available in Europe.

Toshiba vient-il d’inventer l’ultime tout-en-un ? En tout cas, le G450 est plutôt impressionnant : à la fois téléphone, baladeur et modem portable pour son notebook !
Techniquement, l’objet est un modem 3G (UMTS 2100 Mhz, HSDPA 7,2 Mbps), mais également GSM et GPRS/Edge. Côté baladeur, il n’offre que 160 Mo de stockage, ce qui est aujourd’hui beaucoup trop juste.
Pour le reste, cet amusant bâtonnet dispose d’un écran Oled (96×39), un port mini USB 2.0 et est vendu 49 euros en France, assorti d’un abonnement à partir de 20 euros environ.

IPhone owners might soon be able to use their handsets as modems for their computers, but Toshiba's G450 takes exactly the opposite approach. The little device is a 3G modem first, and a cellphone second. On top of that, Toshiba has squeezed in USB storage and an MP3 player.
Rather than placing the G450 as a regular phone, Toshiba seems to be selling it as a feature-added modem and emergency phone replacement. One look at those two dials tells you that text messaging is all but impossible, but according to the chaps at Into Mobile, in other areas the dongle acquits itself admirably.

It's all of those things secondary, while primarily being an HSDPA USB modem capable of dropping back down to EDGE if 3G isn't available. That's a lot of gadget for £140, even if its usability as a memory stick or MP3 player is severely gimped by a measly 160MB of memory. Still, Gadget Lab's Charlie Sorrel defines the G450 best and puts it all in perspective: "a modem with benefits." Yeah.
