United Keys keyboard with 9 OLED keys offers layer commands
Gizmo Watch —
... commands” for the computer.
The Layer commands work well with applications, as you use a particular application with a key, a sub-grid can be built for tasks related to that particular applications. As an example, once in Gmail, you can create a sub-grid of nine keys with Gmail related tasks. The only problem is that creating these layers can be painfully time consuming. Apparently, the $260 keyboard doesn’t work well with Windows Vista either.

UnitedKeys OLED Keyboard Gets Super Customizable With Layer Commands
The UberReview —
... way the layer commands work is this, you set up a bunch of primary keys, for example, Photoshop, GMail, Word, etc. When one of those keys is pressed, nine program-specific hot keys come up. Of course, you are going to have to program all of those yourself, but effectively it gives you up to 72 hot keys to work with.
Apparently it doesn’t play nicely with Windows Vista, but one has to wonder whether that is with people running 64-bit or all versions.
Price: $260 [Wired via GizmoWatch]
