Dell Inspiron Mini 9: a $299 netbook for Black Friday [jkOnTheRun]
GigaOM Network —
Retailers must hate it when their low-priced Black Friday shopping deals get sniffed out. After all, if you knew a product you were about to purchase might be far cheaper in a few short weeks, might you consider putting the purchase off? I likely would unless it was something I needed immediately. We're certain to see more leaked deals in the coming few weeks as we approach the holiday shopping season, so here's the first: Dell's Inspiron Mini 9 looks to be $299 come the day after Thanksgiving here in the U.S. My gut says that this will be the low-end model that currently retails for $349, but who knows? That model has the 4GB SSD module along with Ubuntu 8.04 installed ...

Dell adds a little color to Inspiron Mini line
Liliputing —
The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and Dell Inspiron Mini 12 aren’t the most unattractive netbooks around. But the fact that the mini-laptops were only available in black and white did make them feel a bit drab when compared to more colorful options from companies like Lenovo and Acer. Now it looks like Dell is ready to take the lead in the color wars. A few days ago the company added red and pink options for Japanese customers. Now those colors and 5 more dramatic designs are available in the US as well.
You’ll have to pay an extra $25 to get your Dell Inspiron Mini in “cherry red” or “pretty pink.” And designer stickers from ...

When Dell launched the Inspiron Mini line of netbooks a few months ago, the storage capacity topped out at 16GB. But now you can buy a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 with a 32GB solid state disk. It’ll cost you about $100 more than a model with a 4GB SSD, but just $25 more than the 16GB model.
The change comes just a few days after Dell started offering a wider array of colors and case designs, making the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 one of the most customizable netbooks available.

Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook gets $100 32GB SSD option
SlashGear —
Dell have doubled the amount of solid-state storage available on their Inspiron Mini 9 netbook, in the shape of a new 32GB SSD option. A $100 upgrade from the basic 4GB drive, the new 32GB brings the Mini 9 neatly back into competition with the latest Eee PC models.
However there’s no indication of what manufacturer of drive Dell have used, nor what speeds users can expect to see. While SSDs are generally credited with being faster in operation than traditional platter-based hard-drives, testing with multiple models has shown that performance varies dramatically.
What is clear, however, is that the 32GB drive is a good deal compared to the 16GB SSD option, ...

$100 32GB solid state drive for Mini 9
Boing Boing Gadgets —
Dell now offers a 32GB solid state drive option for it's Mini 9 netbook. It's a $100 upgrade — a nice option, but pricey enough to make it worth researching similarly-priced alternatives if you're willing to get your hands dirty. Patriot's SSD drives, for example, offer blazing-fast write speeds and are frequently hankered for by netbook owners annoyed at the use of cheap flash to bring system prices down.

A esto le sumamos la pantalla táctil que le instalaron, obtenemos un gran ultraportátil.
