T-Mobile G2 to be released on January 26th?
Boy Genius Report —
Yeah, we’re going to have to go ahead and file this one pretty low on the rumor totem pole, but supposedly T-Mobile is planning to release its second Android-powered handset just over a month from now. According to a leaked document from an anonymous CellPhone Signal tipster, the G1 sequel will be released on January 26th and will be dubbed, you guessed it, the G2. While the manufacturer isn’t specified, if it is real we have to assume HTC will be responsible for having nailed it together. As for specs, it’s no slouch:

Según un documento filtrado por la gente de CellPhoneSignal se puede ver que T-Mobile tendría pensado lanzar el T-Mobile G2, sucesor del HTC G1, el 26 de enero de 2009 y probablemente sea el de las imágenes que se filtraron hace unas semanas:
La descripción del equipo posee algunas características muy interesantes:

T-Mobile G2 with Video Calling in January?
Android Phone Fans —
... is a purported “leaked document” that looks rather unofficial, causing raised sensitivity on the crap-o-meter:
The tipster says that photos will come in the near future, but we’ll believe them when we see them. Even if this T-Mobile G2 is the longest long shot of a rumor on planet earth and you’re scoffing at the fact that this article was writting, you’ve probably got your fingers crossed under the desk.
We do.

Rumor: T-Mobile G2 coming January 26 of ‘09?
MobileCrunch —
... handset to be released. That works out to T-Mobile getting not only one, but two Android handsets before anyone else - something I’d imagine might upset the other US carrier (namely, Sprint) in the Open Handset Alliance. Not to mention early adopters - other Android handsets are coming, that’s for sure, many of which will likely outspec the G1. But to make the G1 obsolete with a sequentially advanced followup just 3 months after its release seems absurd.

T-Mobile to launch G2 in January? We’ll believe it when we see it
Android Authority —
As far as rumors go, this appears to be among the weakest of the weak. An “anonymous tipster” has told the guys at CellphoneSignal that the T-Mobile G2 is going to be launched next month. If you ask me, this seems more than a bit too soon after the G1 launch to make sense for T-Mobile, ...

Next generation Android: T-Mobile G2 to hit 26th Jan 09
Phones Review —
... would assume given HTC made such a good job on the G1 it’s fairly likely HTC will get the G2.
The usual rumours on features include…the Android OS of course, 3G/EDGE data, 5 megapixel camera including flash, front facing VGA camera, GPS, WiFi, microSD slot, music and video player, myFaves capable and T-Zones, but no mention of a physical QWERTY.
So there it is, now we just have to wait and see on Jan 26th as to what actually happens with the T-Mobile G2.

T-Mobile G2 rumours begin to surface
PhoneReport v2.0 - latest news, specs, reviews, interviews, and analysis —
... The release date is set to be the 26th January, 2009, although there are contradictory statements from different sources.
It is difficult to comment on such vague rumours, but it is not hard to image a second HTC Android-based phone. Design will be an issue, following the not-so popular look of the current device. HTC will have to broaden its market in order to succeed with more sales, and not continue restricting the international market.

Perhaps Google is giving these G1s away to employees to make way for the G2s? Now that would be a hoot. Okay, enough silliness. I've played with one, but don't own one and I'm not going to quibble with you here.

I noted then how such a device would anger G1 users for coming so soon after the G1. I wonder: Will people still be angry if this G2 does come in May? That six- or seven-month gap is an eternity on the Web, and may make up for the failed Kogan Agora launch.
Based on these pics, and the previously reported specs (VGA camera for video calling), would you buy a G2?
