Opera Releases 'State of the Mobile Web' Report

Opera Software released its final State of the Mobile Web report for 2008. The company found that over the course of the year, the BlackBerry Bold made an immediate impact on its November release, judging by its high placement on the list of handsets preferred by Opera Mini users.
They also found that Facebook and MySpace are in a tight race for the lead in mobile social networking, similar to how the two portals are fighting for desktop market share. Overall, Opera Mini users rung up 5.7 billion page views in November alone, a 12 percent increase ...

Facebook and MySpace are locked in a battle for mobile social networking supremacy in the U.S., although Facebook has surpassed MySpace on the top 10 list for the first time this year.
Facebook is also successful in Europe, where other social networks such as Nasza Klasa in Poland and vKontakte in Russia and Ukraine, are consistently the top sites in their respective countries.
