Sprint announced quite a few interesting phones lately, including the Palm Pixi, Samsung Instinct HD, Samsung Intrepid, Samsung Moment and HTC Hero.
Well, the third largest US carrier prepares even more surprises for 2010.
According to GearLog, Sprint executive David Owens has just unveiled some of the carrier’s plans for next year.

Sprint’s casual attitude towards updating to WM 6.5 is a big concern. Given the recent quarterly numbers report, they need any edge they can get; but nobody wants to buy a WM 6.1 device anymore. It’s officially outdated. 6.5 should have been ready to go this month, in my opinion.
I’m sure though that other factors are coming into play that have forced Sprint to delay updates on its Windows phones.

Nothing really to say here, other than it looks like Sprint would rather you pick up a second device and second plan in the form of a 3G modem (such as the MiFi). ... but less than exciting. Sprint is currently in the testing phase for Windows Mobile 6.5 updates on the HTC Touch Pro2 and other Windows phones. So far nothing firm was given as to when you can expect to see that available, however it is planned for “early 2010.” Additionally, Windows Mobile 7 is coming, but as you would expect that timeline is still in the hands of Microsoft.
Finally, Sprint is also looking to release some WiMax phones next year.
