Apple at CES next year?
9 to 5 Mac - Apple Intelligence — Well, someone is BSing here.  We are not sure who, but statements made by Apple and statements made by some blogs around the web about Apple's taking part in next year's CES simply don't mesh.  As Mac Soda points out, Phil Schiller went on record saying this to the New York Times' David Pogue… I spoke with Phil Schiller after his talk. I asked him if he could be any more specific about why Apple pulled out of the Macworld Expo—to the heartbreak of the Mac faithful who have loved making the ...

Is Apple trying to shed the “cult” with a move to CES?
Apple Gazette — The web has been on fire with rumors that Apple might possibly attend CES in 2010. Cult of Mac and Apple Insider both claim to have inside scoops, and there is even word from CEA that there will be an “Apple-centric area” at CES 2010. Now, obviously, this would be another stunning blow to Macworld, and it might even be the final nail in the coffin for the Conference and Expo as it exists today. It’s already clear that the show is going to have to make some pretty drastic changes to survive (and yes, I know some of you ...

UPDATED: Will CES kill Macworld?
TG Daily - All News — ... Macworld exhibitors, calling Apple's CES move a "done deal." With all of that in mind, we arrive at the third, least likely, outcome: That Apple indeed confirms at some point it will be exhibiting at CES 2010, with or without Jobs' or any other Apple executive's keynote. Such an announcement would spell instant death for Macworld as vast majority of Macworld attendees would switch to Las Vegas where the mothership is (at that point). Lastly, now that Apple has grown from a niche player into a consumer tech giant with its hands across several businesses, we'd be startled to ...

Apple To CES in 2010? Yes. Maybe.
Byte of the Apple - BusinessWeek — ... . Well, AppleInsider says Yes . Citing “sources familiar with the matter,” it says a deal is already done for Apple to hit Vegas in 2010: All things considered, it would appear that Apple’s participation at CES would be no better than Macworld for Apple, and additionally involve greater traveling expenses and expose the company to greater competition for media attention. However, that challenge is apparently just what Apple is looking for as it branches out from its past as a computer hardware company into a full consumer electronics firm with significant software products, ...

Apple Makes the Jump to CES 2010?
Mac|Life all RSS Feed — ... last week asking a bit more of why they were pulling out of Macworld entirely. Schiller admitted that January just didn't coincide with their product release life cycle. That makes it difficult to believe that Apple seems fired up to attend CES 2010 according to AppleInsider . The company could be trying to expand its reach beyond the its core audience. The question is, will Apple go tow-to-toe with Microsoft's keynote at CES with their own, or will they just have a booth. Until we get official word from Apple, we'll just have to wonder.  Question of the day: Would you go ...

SFGate: The Technology Chronicles — ... ending time time to midnight to save on costs. Even then, the party was overrun with people because there weren't as many companies offering competing events. The final audited numbers won't come back for 90 days, but the early numbers sound right. I think the show was still very useful for people who came but with the economy looming overhead, it just couldn't be the CES of old. If things turn up economically this year, we might see a turnaround for the show.
