Liliputing — ... from sleep, you may have to reenable the audio. But now there’s an application called Audieee that provides a graphical user interface for enabling audio, making the process a whole lot simpler. Ultimately, someone will probably figure out how to make the audio work properly without having to restart a utility every time you turn the computer on.
