... of images. When looking at those images you will notice the curves and slopes that make this device appealing to the eye. Sony Ericsson has copied the Apple iPhone in the way that the XPERIA X10 lacks a physical keyboard.
Engadget tried out the two apps that were available to them, Google Maps as well as the WebKit-based default Android browser. Both apps showed us what the X10 will be able, but there is much more to come from the handset.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Announced
Gadget Venue —
... it is released the battery and choppy issues should be all sorted.
The phone has a low amount of internal memory although an 8GB microSD card is included in the package to fix that problem. Also there are no multi-touch features on the phone it seems which seems odd considering the screen being so large that would be a great match.
If SE can fix the choppy system and short battery life by production then they will have a great and sleek looking phone on sale.

Xperia X10 – The Android Device We’ve Been Waiting For?
Mashable! —
... waiting for Windows Mobile 7.0, we have to say we’re glad that Sony Ericsson decided to develop its flagship smartphone around Android, because Windows Mobile 6.5 just didn’t deliver enough changes to make it a real competitor to iPhone OS and Android. And while the version of Android X10 comes with is an old one – 1.6 – its UI has been thoroughly reworked by Sony Ericsson. The question here, as the folks at Engadget point out, is whether all this will be smooth or laggy; it looks fast on promo videos, so the jury is still out on that one. ...

LG to announce Snapdragon-boasting Android phone, Korea-bound in 2010
Engadget Mobile —
... It's looking like LG will be offering an Android phone boasting Qualcomm's hot Snapdragon chip -- which has recently squeezed its way into handsets such as the Xperia X10 and Acer's Liquid. The new LG mobile phone is expected for the Korean market in the second quarter of 2010. While the device is still unnamed and specs are still a mystery, LG is promising that the device will be "more mature" than the GW620 Eve, an Android device announced earlier this week for Rogers in Canada. There's no solid word on what availability of the device will be like, though ...

... was mighty sluggish when we played with it at the launch a couple weeks ago, but this new video from hdblog.it shows what looks like a much newer software build that's dramatically faster and more responsive. There's nothing much new here in terms of features, but just the fact that the X10 is in the wild and running well is encouraging -- especially since we're really digging that media playback interface. Now all we need is some Stateside shipping details and we'll be all set. Video after the break. ...
XPERIA X10 hands-on: lukewarm edition
Engadget Mobile —
... and a snail's pace, but have we ever seen it so stunningly middle of the road? We just got a chance to play with the phone in person for the second time, and from our random sampling of three or four different handsets, it seems that performance is very contingent upon how much content is loaded into the device and what particular thing it's trying to perform. Sometimes we'd fly through the stacks of faces, while other times we'd sit there waiting for the simplest thumbnails to load up. The good news is that we have until next year to see this thing really come together, and ...
