techadvis There's a new program out there, Otengo. Its free
Whats makes otengo different from other softwares is: first you can send files of unlimited size. Any number/size of files or folders can be sent. Secondly, Otengo has a push-based model. It works like email, and when you get a message, the files download on your computer while you work. You dont have to click on files to download. If the internet gets disconnected, the file download resumes from where it stopped. That is something no other program out there can do.
Its pretty amazing, and you guys must check it out. -
galaga Otengo looks interesting- is it using P2P software? I noted that you have to download software on both ends, and not simply a plugin or applet.
Also, there was very little corporate information on there, no Mac version, no obvious privacy policy, and no information about how they make money (or hope to).

techadvis Thats right, you have to download at both ends. But for someone to send a message, the receiver does not have to be an Otengo user. You can simply use the receivers regular email address.
From what I know the program is relatively new. Though it is much better than other services out there. Dont think there's a mac version, but I just checked on the website, its in the works.

Need to send a file to a friend or colleague, but it's too large for your email system to handle? No problem, just upload it to a web server and send the recipient a download link. If you don't have your own server, there are plenty of services that ...
