Motorola Droid Review [Review]
gizmodo.com — It's this simple: If you don't buy an iPhone, buy a Droid. It's the best phone on Verizon, and with Android 2.0 , the second best smartphone you can buy, period. Engadget — ... Spring Design's Alex as a way of showing off their new Armada chip, which claims a faster three frames per second refresh rate along with the usual assorted reductions in cost and power consumption. Maximum PC got the opportunity to see the Alex first-hand at the meeting, and note that while it's definitely thicker than the kindle (blame goes to the larger battery and second screen, naturally), it's a smart little device. Alex eBook Reader unveiled
CrunchGear — ... Now to be fair, the Alex only has a frame rate of 3 FPS. But when you compare it to other readers, that have a rate of (generally) 0 FPS, you’re talking a significant improvement. This will allow the Alex to show simple animation, and other types of moving data. The Alex also sports dual screens, a 6 inch reader screen and a smaller touch capable screen mounted below. Maximum PC has a complete write up (and teardown) of the Alex, and they go into a little more depth about what the Marvell chipset is capable of. ...

Alex eBook Reader – Android Based with Dual Screen
Gadget Venue — ... off when not used. Having web browsing available on the smaller colour screen also gives a better experience as it’s full colour and renders a lot quicker than the 3 frame per second speeds on the e-paper. The small screen is also capacitive and can make use of the majority of Android’s features such as being able to show photo galleries, video and use an on-screen keyboard for text entry. Overall it appears to be an impressive device from Spring Design. Via: MaximumPC Alex eBook Reader – Android Based with Dual Screen > ...

Alex Reader Hands-On Lusty Pictures [Ebook]
Gizmodo — ... Maximum PC got their hands on one, and liked it very much, from the capacitative screen—running Android—that can play video to the onscreen keyboard. The only thing they didn't like is that it is thicker than Kindle. Who cares about a few millimeters when you get more usability in return? I don't. And I like them curvy. [Maximum PC] ...
