Palm Pre Sprint’s pricing update and sales volumes
Unwired View —
... for the Palm Pre getting to Europe and onto other networks in the U.S., it will all also depend on how Palm Pre is received on Sprint. If there is a huge demand there, only several key European markets will get the new handset and in a very limited volumes as well. And other U.S. operators will have to wait for a while for their own Pre device.
If Palm Pre flops on Sprint, then you can expect it appearing in many other countries and U.S. networks pretty soon.

Palm Pre Might Not Be Priced Into Oblivion After All [Rumor]
Gizmodo —
... The $149/$199 figure is obviously the story here, as the on-contract price the most important, referenced one for any handset. But don't ignore the $399 price either—that's less than many no-contract BlackBerrys and WinMo phones, and the same price as the G1 developer model. All this sounds like it could conceivably be true, and if Palm wants their new handset to make any waves (or more urgently, save their entire company) then they should make it true. Palm Pre’s pricing leaked
Tech Ticker —
... the high price refers to an unlocked Pre without any contract while the latter is of the carrier locked device with a 2 year contract.
Now these prices may not be true, but practically it makes sense. Pre will compete with the likes of iPhones, Blackberrys and G1s and selling the phone at the same or at a lower price will urge users to try the device. Even if Palm sets the unlocked price at $499, it will still be cheaper than most of the phones in its category.
