Palm announces the webOS platform and the good-looking Palm Pre smartphone

For the beginning, Palm Pre will be exclusively available via Sprint in the US. Its exact release date was not announced, but it will happen sometime in the first half of 2009. After that, the GSM/HSDPA version of the smartphone will also be outed, in different other markets.
Pricing details will be announced later this year.
