... on Opera Dragonfly and its Turbo mode. The company has claimed that Turbo mode can offer broadband-like speeds on dial up. Being that it's in beta, expect more changes and improvements to come along the way. Opera is just ahead of Google and Apple on the global Internet traffic pie, holding a small 4% as compared to Internet Explorers 60% and Firefoxs 30%. However, its browser is the most used among the mobile segment, and it's certainly a worthy desktop alternative if you're in the mood for a change .

Tabs in the new default skin are rounded, and arguably look more like tabs. The big surprise -- and certainly Opera's latest submission to the "Now, Why Didn't We Think of That?" department -- is the vertically resizable tab bar. Dragging the grabber down reveals thumbnails of the latest snapshots of the visible open tabs.

... In general, the company claims up to a 40 percent performance boost in Opera 10 with its Presto 2.2 rendering engine.
Other new features include a customizable Speed Dial for storing 4 to 25 websites, a resizable search field, new visual tabs and sleeker design, and inline spell checker, an a boatload more.

A few days ago Opera released the first beta of Opera 10. Today, Google pretty silently published very early Google Chrome builds for Mac OS X and Linux.
