Samsung announced that it will reveal its LUXIA 6.5mm thick LED backlit LCD TV at the CES 2009. Samsung’s ultra thin LED LCD TV is a challenge to LG’s LH95, another ultra slim LED-backlit LCD TV. The Samsung LUXIA features 240Hz Motion plus technology and will be available in 40-55-inch.

Samsung, responsible for churning out ‘world’s first’ products, and will now claim to another first in the industry. They have announced that they will showcase their slimmest LED backlit HDTV at the CES which measures not more than 6.5mm – 7mm in thickness. That’s pretty slim considering LG was touting its almost 25mm TV as the slimmest. Other details are pretty scarce at the moment but the TVs are expected to come in sizes starting from 40” to 55”.

Si algo se esta empezando a ver es que todas las empresas que producen pantallas y paneles están demostrando de que ha servido tanta inversión durante los últimos años en estas tecnologías, pasada ya la brecha de que todas las pantallas consigan resoluciones 1080p ahora solo queda el grosor, también los mejores brillos y contrastes, pero en este caso la pelea va más bien por las pantallas OLED.
