Don’t expect to figure out much from them, though–there are some minor changes to the icons, but nothing that reveals any earthshaking changes, if such changes are indeed in there somewhere. We may need to wait until Microsoft has its say before we get much of a picture of what to expect–and when to expect it…

While Office 14 isn't the official title, it may make sense considering the naming convention for Windows 7... which is just Windows 7. However, rumors have also speculated that it will be called Office System 2009.

Microsoft is reportedly thinking of ways to develop a version of its Office suite for netbooks. According to Network World, Microsoft business division chief Stephen Elop implied that the goal is to come up with a low cost version of Office that provides limited functionality. After all, who wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a version of Microsoft Office that will run on a $300 laptop?
