Nvidia Ion Reference PC Review
I4U News — ... PC, a small 5.6 x 4.3 x 1.5-inch box that looked very much like an early build of a nettop. There’s a thermal vent carved into the top of the box in the shape of Nvidia’s “eye” logo, plus extra vents on the side of the unit to help keep it cool. Scattered about the front and back of the Ion box are seven USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, and dual-link DVI (which was disabled in this build, but will be fully functional when Nvidia updates Ion’s BIOS)." Nvidia Ion platform reviewed (Verdict: Put this in netbooks now, thank you)
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... its way into netbooks. (Intel isn't exactly so excited about it.) After seeing the results of the test, I want it, too: 7.1 HD Audio, 1080p video playback, 3D performance that might actually be useful for gaming. Of course it'll affect battery life, but that's fine. I'd rather have the ability to do those things when I choose than never be able to do them at all. Nvidia says Ion-powered netbooks are coming by the second quarter. My great netbook purchasing wait continues! Nvidia Ion Reference PC [LaptopMag.com]

NVIDIA Ion prototype reviewed
Liliputing — ... The folks at Laptop Magazine got their hands on a prototype PC based on the Ion platform and they’ve published a detailed review. Keep in mind, this is a prototype box built by NVIDIA and will likely never come to market in its current form. It’s also worth noting that the box uses the Intel Atom 230 CPU, which is the desktop version of the Intel Atom N270 which is used in netbooks and laptops. The two chips should offer similar performance, but we won’t know what impact the NVIDIA Ion platform really has on netbooks until we see it show up in one. ...

Early reviews of the Ion platform are in.. and things look good
Krunker — ... the folks from Anandtech who received a white colored reference system from NVIDIA. Here’s a snippet from the review: “Ion addresses one of Atom’s primary deficiencies - poor graphics performance. It can’t, however, make Atom something it’s not. It’s faster to use Photoshop on Ion than on any of the current Atom platforms, but I still don’t want to. It’s better to play games on the Ion than on a regular Atom system, but it’s not fun to. “ Moving on, the folks at LaptopMag had this to say about the Ion platform: “Assuming Ion doesn’t take too heavy a ...
