Nintendo Ponders Releasing 3G Kindle-esque DS
GEARFUSE — ... wouldn’t be required to pay a monthly fee for 3G access, but would pay an overhead price included in the retail pricing, basically providing the user with a one-time fee for lifetime access to the network. Providing 3G downloads would allow users to download DLC on-the-go. If much of your town or city is still Wifi-less, you might want to consider petitioning for this idea.
