No great surprise, given that we’re already seeing US reviews and retailers have had the netbook up for pre-order for some time now, but Acer have officially launched the 10-inch Aspire One D150 in the US. The budget ultraportable starts at $349.99, which gets you Intel’s N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard-drive, a 1024 x 600 10.1-inch gloss-finish display, WiFi b/g and a webcam.
It’s also being advertized as coming with a 6-cell battery 4,400mAh, which is different both the the 6-cell 5,800mAh pack that early reviewers have received, and to the replacement 4-cell 4,400mAh unit which Acer admitted to some reviewers ...

Sure, the new 10.1 inch Acer Aspire One has been available for pre-order for days now. But Acer has finally gotten around to pushing out a press release announcing the US launch of the Acer Aspire One AOD150.
As jas already been widely reported, the laptop has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a flash card reader, and a 6 cell, 4400mAh battery. It weighs 2.95 pounds, and measures 10.2″ x 8″ x 1.31″ and costs $349.99.

Technically, Acer is adding a new netbook model to the U.S. Aspire One lineup so I guess you could call it “next-generation,” but I see it as a bigger version of the old generation. Essentially, the AOD150 is mostly the same under the hood as the original, but offers a 10.1-inch display instead of an 8.9-incher and a 6-cell battery standard. At this point, the Intel Atom N280 and GN40 are either available or just around the corner, so I would have hoped to see an upgrade in the CPU. Still, $349 is a decent value for these specs and minor improvements:
