Well, Sony said it has “nothing to announce,” while Netflix has never elaborated on just how “exclusive” its deal with Microsoft (MSFT) is regarding Netflix streaming.
So, don’t be too surprised if one of these days you see a screaming yet bland headline: NETFLIX STREAMS TO PS3, YAY!

Xbox 360 will be the only game system that lets users instantly watch movies and TV episodes streamed from Netflix.
Of course, exclusivity deals aren’t necessarily perpetual (just ask AT&T). And we know Netflix has run a few customer surveys and a suggestive employment opportunity pointing towards possible PS3 and/or Wii ...

By way of the Playstation blog, we learn that those Netflix surveys did indeed foreshadow the end of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 streaming exclusivity. Beginning next month, Netflix-subscribing PS3 owners will be treated to instant video streaming from their gaming console.
I’m not sure how the companies landed here, but the solution will be delivered via disc. Which isn’t nearly as elegant as Netflix on the Xbox. (And reminds me of running a web browser or Linux from disc on a Dreamcast eons ago.) ...
