YouTube goes High-Def
SlashGear — YouTube have switched on High Definition viewing for online content that has been uploaded in suitably high-resolution.  Although there has been no official comment from the company as yet, a search for “HD” shows multiple clips with the option “watch in HD” where once it said “watch in higher quality”.  Comparison screenshots after the cut. Tech Digest — Looks like YouTube has finally switched on full HD - at least for videos uploaded in high-definition. Going to the site now, and tracking down a video recorded in high-definition, like this one, for example, will give you a "Watch in HD" in the bottom-right corner of the video display. HDTV Lounge — Just over a week ago YouTube changed to a new widescreen video format, and today they have official begun streaming HD videos. Any video that was originally uploaded in HD quality should now be available in HD.  To the bottom right of selected videos, simply click the “Watch In HD” link, to load up the high quality HD version. There is a huge difference in video quality, and it makes the videos a whole lot more enjoyable to watch. Obsessable News Feed — YouTube is a fun place to watch videos from all over the world, but it's never been known for visual quality. Since streaming large video files over the internet to lots of people is extremely expensive, Google (which owns YouTube) has been slow to embrace ultra-sharp video quality.
