Luckily, Apple has just rolled out a Top Apps section in iTunes as part of its iTunes 2008 year-end section.
This section features dozens on apps broken into two categories: Free and Paid. Within these two categories you’ll find the ...

Guatemala: Accidental Snapshot
Boing Boing —
(I'm traveling and blogging from Guatemala right now, so expect a number of posts from me specific to this region. - XJ).
I've spent much of the past week in a K'iche' Maya village in the highlands. One of the children there took this snapshot on my iPhone by accident, I'm pretty sure. I love it. We were gathered around the wood hearth, trying to stay warm, I was watching the women slap tortillas from corn they grew just outside. I'd offered the kids my iPhone (a magical and foreign device for their small hands) and was showing them how to play around with some apps. They learned quickly. Their favorite apps, btw, were: Eno's "Bloom," ...

Of course, there are plenty of apps out there that limit their accelerometer use--or ignore it completely--but who are we to judge? It’s not like we spend our days trolling the App Store just so we can boil down tens of thousands of games and utilities to 10 or so that we think need improvement. So, here’s our list ...
