Verizon drops Omnia to $199, hopes you'll pay attention now
Engadget —
Samsung's Omnia is nice enough to find a good home in many a professional's pocket, but in terms of overall desirability it doesn't quite compare to the iPhone or G1. Why, then, did Verizon price the thing $50 higher than its alternate-platform competition? Your guess is as good as ours, but at least the company didn't take long to see the error of its ways, dropping the handset under the magic $200 mark just a few days ...

Verizon Samsung Omnia price cut to $199.99
SlashGear —
Less than a week on the market, and Verizon have already dropped the price of the Samsung Omnia. The touchscreen smartphone now retails from $199.99 with a new two-year contract, thanks to a $70 mail-in rebate. The move is likely a response to Apple’s pricing for the iPhone 3G.
Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, the Omnia has a full metal casing, 5-megapixel camera and EVDO Rev.A connectivity. In an unusual move for Verizon, the handset’s WiFi has been left intact. The Omni has 8GB of internal memory, together with a microSD slot supporting cards up to 16GB in size.
While the price parity with the iPhone 3G is welcome, we’d prefer to see ...

Boy Genius Report —
We showed you the first live images of it, we priced it and gave you a release date, Verizon announced it and we unboxed it. What more Omnia news could you possibly want? Ahhh, how about a price drop? That’s right people, a mere eight days since the Omnia became available online and through telesales and Verizon is already dropping the price to a cool $199 after $70 mail-in rebate. The new price is down from $249 after the same rebate. Talk about a killer early adopter tax - the Omnia won’t even hit many stores until next week and we already have a 20% price drop! Those of you who purchased the handset already can still be happy knowing ...
Verizon’s Samsung Omnia is now $50 cheaper
Unwired View —
Samsung Omnia is not widely available across the US (it will be starting December 8), yet Verizon Wireless has already decided to cut its price from $249.99 to $199.99 (a 2-yr contract agreement is obviously required).
Needless to say, this is good news for all those who have pondered on buying the Omnia but felt the $250 price tag is a little too high.
The handset’s no-contract price has remained the same, $439.99, so if you don’t need a new Verizon agreement but do want an Omnia, you’ll still have to pay quite a lot.
But hey, the Omnia is by no means an ...
Verizon lowers Samsung Omnia pricing, now at $199.99
Gadgetell —
Section: Communications, Cellphones, Cellular Providers, Smartphones, Mobile
Despite the fact that Verizon had only announced the Samsung Onmia availability just about a week ago, we are already seeing a nice price cut. The Omnia was originally priced at $249.99, but has been lowered by $50. With that price cut, the new price is now at $199.99. Of course, it is important to point out that price does come after a $70 mail-in-rebate and along with the standard two-year agreement. While it is hard to argue against a price cut, I am thinking that Verizon would have seen a more positive reaction if they somehow got rid of the mail-in-rebate, and opted for something instant. ...
Verizon Wireless drops Samsung Omnia to $99
Boy Genius Report —
It’s a buyers market for prospective smartphone owners with prices on mobile phones dropping like a stone. Last weekend, the BlackBerry Storm fell to $99 on Amazon and this weekend the price for Verizon’s Samsung Omnia has fallen to $99.99 directly from its website. This price includes a $70 online-only discount and will of course require a 2-year contract. The Omnia on a 1-year contract has been lowered as well - to $169 - while the full retail price of the phone remains an astonishingly high $559. Those interested in the Omnia should head on over to Verizon’s website sooner rather than later as we do not know if this price reduction is permanent or only temporary. Happy Omnia shopping!
Thanks, Austin! ...
Samsung Omnia Available for $99 from Verizon Wireless
Mobilewhack.com —
[image] Verizon Wireless has decided to lower the price for the Samsung Omnia. Is this move a response to the economic crisis or is Verizon getting ready to offer some hot phones to its subscribers? The Omnia will cost you just $99 if you buy it online. There’s a $70 discount available only online so far. You’ll have to choose a 2-year contract to get that special prices. If you’re more of a 1-year contract person then the Omnia will cost you $169. There’s also the possibility of purchasing the phone without a contract, at $559. via Verizon Tags: Mobile News , OMNIA , online , Samsung , Samsung , Verizon , Verizon Wireless
