MSI chairman Joseph Hsu let slip that the company is currently working on an Nvidia Tegra-based e-book reader, but details won't be released until sometime in the first half of next year. There are still some 'unspecified problems' to be fixed with the design of the device, reports Digitimes . MSI joins Asustek, which has already announced plans for an e-book. Its nine-inch grayscale device will appear 'soon' according to CEO Jerry Shen, but Gigabyte vice president Richard Ma said that his company currently has no plans for either a smartbook or e-book reader. Speaking of Taiwanese companies, Gigabyte have no plans for an e-book reader whereas Asus is inching towards the launch of its first reader. Asus e-book reader is said to have a 9-inch monochrome display and will hit retail shelves as early as Q1 2010.
