GiiNii - Welcome to the Internet-Connected World
Zatz Not Funny! — ... Meanwhile, the PixPlus digital frames weren’t even the highlight of GiiNii’s portfolio. The company had an iPod Touch knock-off called the Movit Mini with a 4.3″ touch screen. ...

Oops – we broke the Movit…
Coolest Gadgets — GiiNii are going to have a winner on their hands with the Movit. A portable internet tablet with a decent screen and excellent software should be a no-brainer anyway and using Android only increases it’s geek cred. I’d like to be able to talk about the slick user interface, the responsive web browser etc etc. and indeed things were going well. Then after a reboot it powered itself off and resolutely refused to turn on again. Hopefully they have more than one at the show… Battery problem? Overheated? Who knows - Luckily it is still pre-production so I presume they’ll iron the kinks out of it before ...

GiiNii’s Movit Mini – an Android based Tablet
Krunker — You know.. I’m not entirely sure how I ended up missing this product announcement at CES 2009 .. but oh well.  A company called GiiNii International showed off their upcoming Android OS-based tablet internet appliance called the Movit Mini.  This particular gadget has apparently been the talk of the town (err.. talk of the Internet at least) over the last several weeks.. primarily because 1) it uses Android and 2) it’s fairly inexpensive. OK.. so wait a second.. what the heck is the Movit Mini anyhow? Good question. It’s basically a small tablet that provides a window onto the ...

New touch tablets circling the market
Gadgetell — Section: Computers, Mobile Computers, Netbooks, Wireless Wi-Fi connected touchscreen tablets are finally getting closer to the real thing.  Testing out the unproven market niche, two players are getting closer to coming to market from two unlikely sources.  Big manufacturers like Apple, Asus, and others have trouble seeing how this market will differentiate itself from a netbook and continue to wait on the sideline. A touchscreen tablet, as currently defined is basically a netbook with no physical keyboard.  The operating system has been ...

Letting the GiiNii out of the Bottle
Zatz Not Funny! — ... The most exciting gadget news I learned during the conversation is that GiiNii’s 7-inch touch-screen tablet, the Movit Max (due out in Q4), will be priced “about the same as other brands’ Wi-Fi picture frames.” In other words, for this year’s holiday season we could be looking at a sub-$300 tablet display. Other companies are focused on ...

Weekend roundup: Google’s CEO, Motorola set top box, GiiNii, IceCondor
Android Authority — image_84 In this roundup we have the beat on Google executives answering questions during the company’s April 16 earnings call, information on the Android OS and netbooks (in context of Symbian too), some updates on the GiiNii Movit Mini Android PMP, and the debunking of Motorola’s Android set-top-box. Ready? Go! It was clear to those who read the minutes or even attended Google’s April 16 earnings call that the rising commercial giant took this time to chat about the expansion of Android in general, but also physically onto netbooks too. Overall, Q1 of 2009 saw the company squeeze out a small amount of growth ...

Hands On Giinii Movit Mini: The Android Tablet [Android]
i.gizmodo.com 1/8/2009 — The idea sounds so sexy: An Android tablet. Remarkably thin, with over four inches of touchscreen, like an Android iPod touch. Actually, that's a lot what it's like. Namely, 'cause there's no cellphone—Wi-Fi only. ...
