Exactly how much of those things you’d want to do on a 2.86-inch display is arguable, but you can’t particularly complain about the specs. The mintpad’s battery is apparently good for 30hrs music playback or 5hrs video, and it’ll supposedly retail for just 198,000KRW ($157). This thing can’t hit the importers a day too soon.

Mintpass' tiny Mintpad brings handwriting back from the 20th century
Engadget —
... it surfs the web on 802.11b/g WiFi and plays 4GB (or more with a microSD card) of music and videos on its sub-3-inch 320 x 240 display, but the draw is handwriting with a stylus. Don't pick it up if you're looking for handwriting recognition, though -- you just jot down notes the old fashioned way, though you can pass them over the internet to others who have their own Mintpads. We've seen a note or two saying you can pick one up in South Korea for ₩198,000, or about $156. [Via Pocketables] ...
Mintpad Wireless Post-Its Good For Classroom Note-Passing, Digital-Style [Digital Post-it]
Gizmodo —
... It won't handwriting-recognize your scrawls though, it simply replaces Post-Its for reminder notes. And you can send your notes over the net to other Mintpad owners. Will it replace crumpled paper-notes bearing "Steve fancies you!" messages thrown between desks in class—or displace the humble SMS? Could do, but since it's out in South Korea for about $156, probably not. [Pocketables via ...

Watch the video demos on their website and if you want to grab these, they’re ~$155 a pop but you’d have to fly to Korea for it. [Pocketables] ...

... card slot for expandability. The screen is 320×240 and the built-in WiFi is a nice touch for speedy downloads and I suppose web browsing, although it might prove challenging on the tiny screen.
The Mintpad costs about $157, but I wouldn’t expect it to leave Korea, at least not anytime soon.

Mintpad: Touchscreen multimedia device connects through Wi-Fi

... battery life.
The notes sent through Mintpad are an improvement (if we may say so) over the IM’s that we normally use for instant communication. Scribble your note on the Mintpad screen through a stylus (for it has no keyboard), and there your poorly written note is sent in original and complete state to the recipient in a jiffy. There is a limitation; this can only send notes to other Mintpads.

... to other mintpad users. It’s a cool feature for a neat portable media player/Web browser/camera with 4GB of memory. In other words this product may have serious potential with school going kids who may fancy passing notes to friends and worry about the teacher confiscating it like they do with cell phones now a days. The Mintpad is only available in Korea for the price of $156 a pop. Do you think this technology will catch on with the older crowd? Drop in a line.. Mintpad2.JPG Via

In conclusion it looks pretty awesome, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it… and that is the problem. It is currently only available in Korea and there is no news whatsoever as to when it will be crossing the Pacific, never mind the Atlantic, so don’t hold your breath. But apart from that? I want!
