Maingear Prelude 2: 3D Gaming PC in a Box [3D Gaming]
Gizmodo —
I still have serious doubts about 3D PC gaming actually taking off, but Maingear's Nvidia-powered Prelude 2 3D gaming rig neatly bundles everything you need into a $2000 package. For two grand, I'd like the specs on the PC itself to be a little beefier—a step above the default GeForce 9800 GT, at least 320GB hard drive and 64-bit Windows—but you're paying for convenience of a pre-built 3D gaming setup. It's based on Nvidia's GeForce 3D Vision (which uses rapid-blinking LCD shutter tech) and comes with a 22-inch Samsung LCD monitor, and the Core i7-powered guts are in ...

Maingear Etches Your Mugshot On A Laptop
Gearlog —
This isn't a new concept, but Maingear just launched the mX-L, its latest 13-inch laptop, which lets you customize the lid with any photo or image. With the M.A.R.C laser-etching technique, customers can simply upload the image or logo of their choice, and Maingear laser-beams it permanently on the lid.
This is a laptop first, of course, so it comes with a razor-thin 13-inch LED widescreen, the option of a Blu-Ray drive, and an Intel solid-state drive. You have your choice of the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, integrated graphics, and up to 8GB of DDR2 memory. The base price starts at ...

MAINGEAR Unveils Ultra Energy-Efficent Gaming PC
Fast Company - Technology —
Custom computer manufacturer MAINGEAR Computers has unveiled the Pulse--an energy-efficient, small PC that the company claims is the world's greenest gaming PC. Gaming PCs are, of course, some of the biggest power hogs in the computer industry. But MAINGEAR's Pulse is relatively low-energy, with a 300-watt power supply that's approximately 80% efficient.
The Pulse, based on NVIDIA ION graphics, is available with Intel Core 2 54nm processors or Quad processors along with a GeForce 9800 GT ECO graphics card. Combined, these devices draw a modest 165 watts of power.

Maingear unveils its dual-GPU eX-L18 gaming laptop
Ubergizmo —
We don't keep track of all the gaming laptops out there, but we know that Maingear has launched the 18.4" eX-L 18 gaming laptop today. Most of its power comes from the dual GeForce GTX 280M setup that should let gamers use the highest resolution and the largest image quality/filtering available in modern games (that's what SLI is great for).
As you can see, this laptop is quite thick, but read this: you can put three 2.5" hard drives in a RAID configuration. Now just imagine what that would do with three Intel X25M SSDs... wow. Anyway check it out ...
Maingear add ATI Radeon HD 5870 to gaming line-up
SlashGear —
It’ll come as little to no surprise that, with the new ATI Radeon HD 5870 video cards fresh on the scene, gaming PC manufacturers are already updating their wares to include the DirectX 11 capable GPU. Maingear is one of the first into the SlashGear inbox, with their Ephex, F131, Prelude, and X-Cube systems all getting friendly with AMD’s newest graphics card.
As you might expect, it’s not a cheap upgrade option in any case. On Maingear’s flagship desktop, the Ephex, the HD 5870 is the entry-level ATI card on offer in a system starting from ...
