T-Mobile will make the BlackBerry Bold 2 (or the 9700 as it's supposed to be called) available to the public from 10 November. The new phone is set to be released via the web on 6 November, and T-Mobile will be stocking it four days after that. Apple's hopes of conquering China with its iPhone may be fading after reports of a dismal opening weekend for the phone on its debut in the country. According to reports, the president of the firm offering the iPhone in China, Unicom Ltd, told shareholders that sales had 'passed 5,000' following its debut weekend, a far from stellar total. Sony brings HD recording to the PS3

Sony has released the 1.21 firmware update to PlayTV, allowing it to record free to air HD channels. PlayTV, Sony's Freeview-recording add on for the PS3, will now be able to record and play another channel simultaneously, both in high definition. Sony has also promised better upscaling from standard definition broadcasts, meaning that if you're watching a programme in non-HD quality PlayTV will bust its little guts to polish it up before it gets to your eyeballs. Google has told TechRadar that it is considering Maps Navigation, one of the standout features for the Android 2.0 update, for Europe in the future.
