Android Authority —
The guys over at ModMyGphone.com have scored a number of new pics of the Lenovo OPhone Android powered smartphone that is headed to the Chinese market. Some new details about the device have surfaced, as well. For starters, we can plainly see that it has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera. It also sports a microSD memory card slot and supposedly features an on-screen virtual keyboard for both Chinese and English text input - which means it’s not out of the question for people outside of China to get one to work properly. In any case, what you really want are the pics. ...

Originally surfacing last week, a few more details have also popped up, revealing that it has a 5 MP camera, microSD support, English/Chinese virtual keyboard, Bluetooth and video recording capability. And after seeing these pics, all I can think is how cruel it is for Lenovo to deprive North America of the OPhone. [ModMyGphone]

Gadget Leak: Lenovo Android Phone & Some Specs
GadgetReview —
When you mention ‘Lenovo’ it conjures up images of laptops, not cell phones. Not until now, that is. Lenovo is set to enter the smartphone market (in China) with an all touchscreen handset running Google’s Android OS. All we know right now is that it sports a 5 megapixel camera, microSD slot, virtual keyboard and Bluetooth 2.0.

Unwired View —
... itself. But how well it really works still remains a mystery. We’ll find out for sure once either Lenovo or China Mobile spill out official details regarding it.
Of course, it’s also possible that an insider would find a way to get his hands on this handset, and test it out for us in advance. But until that happens, we’ll just have to settle on these live photos for now.

Engadget —
... carrier will reportedly launch the 3G handset sometime this quarter, though some reports are suggesting that development is being hampered as engineers struggle with creating a Chinese language version of the OS. Once launched, it will go down as the first Android-powered handset to operate on China's home-cooked TD-SCDMA 3G network, but there's no word on just how costly it'll be. China Mobile planning to subvert Unicom's iPhone launch with the OPhone?
Engadget —
... with word on the street that China Unicom has snagged the iPhone in that provider's home turf, a report from DigiTimes is suggesting that China Mobile might be trying to undermine the competition's supposed June iPhone launch by dropping the OPhone a month earlier. That sounds sensible enough, but are people there so eager for iPhone they'd jump on the imitation rather than wait another month for the real thing? We'll find out soon enough.
