Canon announced the latest member of its burgeoning DSLR range today – the Canon EOS 7D. The camera slots in nicely to the company's mid-range, and is looking likely to be a competitor to Nikon's D300 and D300S series. Specs-wise, the EOS 7D sports an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Dual DIGIC 4 processors that allow for superb low-light shooting, and an ISO range up to 12,800. As for continuous shooting, the 7D packs allows for 8 frames per second. 19-point focus Canon is boasting that its camera will bring with it "a new photographic experience". Samsung has announced the arrival of the WB5000, a camera that packs an almighty punch in the optical zoom stakes. Aimed at compact users who want a little bit more from their cameras, the WB5000 offers both 24x optical zoom and a 26mm wide angle lens, something that is unheard of outside of DSLR circles. Smart Auto feature Other specs include a Dual Image Stabilisation function, which combines both Optical and Digital Image Stabilisation into one feature, Face detection and Blink detection, and something called Smart Auto. Panasonic has unveiled its latest addition to the Lumix G Micro System line-up, with the Lumix DMC-GF1 claiming to be the world's smallest and lightest system camera with built in flash. The rather snazzy looking Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is not only capable of capturing stills, but also video – including 1280 x 720 AVCHD Lite movies and at 60fps. An exposure meter and shutter speed preview is visible in live view and, for those that find black a bit 20th century, you can also get the camera in 'active red' and 'sleek silver'. Panasonic has unveiled its latest addition to the Lumix G Micro System line-up, and TechRadar has got to grips with the Lumix DMC-GF1. The micro four-thirds camera is billed as the world's smallest and lightest system camera with built in flash and interchangeable lenses, and it's certainly a nice looking bit of kit. In real terms the GF1 is 35 per cent smaller and 26 per cent lighter than Panasonic's G1, and it's certainly reminiscent of the Olympus E-P1.
