Kogan intros world's second Android phone: Agora / Agora Pro
We'll be totally honest -- we pretty much blew Ruslan Kogan off when he proclaimed that he was about to push out a $199 Android phone by the year's end. And truthfully, the guy still hasn't totally delivered, but you won't find us kvetching about more Googlephones, regardless of MSRP. The ...

Is this the next Android Phone?
Mobility Site —   The boys at Engadget have just posted about this new Android-based phone. The Agora (AU$299; US$192) and Agora Pro (AU$399; US$256) are available for pre-order as we speak, though neither one is scheduled to ship out until the end of January. As for specs, the Agora packs a 2.5-inch touchscreen (320 x 240), 3G networking, a backlit QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot; the Pro adds in GPS, 2-megapixel camera and WiFi. So, with unsubsidized prices this low, are you willing to take a chance? I have ...

Kogan launches Agora Android phones
T3.com All — ... to the Pro model, there's also GPS, a 2MP camera and Wi-Fi, well worth the extra expense in our book. Sound too good to be true? Well, in a way, it is. An Android phone needs data, lots of it, so realistically you will have to sign up to some kind of package. But at least you can shop around for a sim-only deal at your provider of choice. Kogan is doing pre-orders right now, with a basic available for AU$299, the Pro for AU$399. Brisk business is expected. Link: Kogan (via Engadget ) Related links: [image]

For comparison, the N97 will cost £465 before it gets subsidised by contracts. At those prices, these are going to be fantastic entry-level smartphones, especially as they're Android-powered, with all the joy that comes with that. Both are available for pre-order now, with those orders arriving on Jan 29th 2009. Kogan (via Engadget) ...

The world’s second Android phone comes from… Kogan?
Boy Genius Report — ... a 2.5″ touchscreen, 3G and some pretty respectable specs. In fact, these puppies match up pretty well against the G1, though we obviously won’t see them gaining much ground here in the US any time soon. Both handsets are now available for pre-order and will begin shipping in just over a month on January 29th, with the Agora coming in at AU$299 (US$192) and the Agora Pro coming in at AU$399 (US$256).
