PR News: — ... they have managed to come up with some figures. Parts and materials for the Bold comes to just $158.16, with assembly and testing costs coming to $11.25, that a total cost of $169.41. IF RIM was to sell the BlackBerry for $350 that would mean a markup of $45, before R&D sosts and software. Carriers then have to pay for marketing and shipping costs, as well as freebies that they might give away. Either way, there is still a lot of profit for each handset. Source
