Si sigues las noticias sobre Blu-ray, sabrás que estos discos pueden almacenar información en hasta en dos capas (por ahora), cada una de 25GB. En este tipo de híbrido se usa la segunda capa para almacenar la información del DVD. En esencia es un disco Blu-ray (25GB) junto a un disco DVD de doble capa (8.5GB) juntos, pero no descartan crear un disco de doble capa BD junto a un disco de doble capa DVD.
