En este tipo de híbrido se usa la segunda capa para almacenar la información del DVD. En esencia es un disco Blu-ray (25GB) junto a un disco DVD de doble capa (8.5GB) juntos, pero no descartan crear un disco de doble capa BD junto a un disco de doble capa DVD.
