"Just keep typing until you get near the bottom and then the compose box will magically expand by a few lines," Google wrote in a blog post.
Users will be able to "flick to scroll" through an e-mail message just like they would a Web site. Google said the issue has not been as problematic on Android phones thanks to the trackball.
Google also provided tips on how to make inline images show up in your messages.
