Nintendo Wii 2: No Wii HD release - Fils-Aime
PR News: —
... the company has ‘no’ plans to release one.
As reported from VG247, his comments were revealed in a Nintendo Special on GTTV. He added that analyst Michael Pachter seems to be the only guy who believes that a Wii HD is going to happen.
But in a direct quote, Fils-Aime stated: “I don’t know how forcefully we can say that there is no Wii HD.”
I believe the word ‘ouch’ is in order. Check out the Nintendo Special on Game Trailers here, watch from 19.09.

Reggie denies the existence of Wii HD
Joystiq —
... Though plenty of people -- analyst Michael Pachter chief among them -- are pretty certain that an HD version of the Wii is in the pipeline, you're not going to catch Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Amie copping to it. Speaking with Geoff Keighley on Gametrailers TV, ...
Repeat after Nintendo: there is no Wii HD
The Inquisitr » Technology —
... If Nintendo did have a high-def Wii in the works, the company would keep it secret; after all, why harm sales of the Wii by telling consumers an improved model is coming up?
Plus, a Wii HD is not implausible. Nintendo has a history of releasing updated versions of its hardware, especially when sales begin to dwindle. This is precisely what is happening now, particularly in Japan and North America, where a revitalized PlayStation 3 is enjoying a resurgence.

Come on, everyone, of course Nintendo is working on the Wii HD
CrunchGear —
Nintendo’s generally vocal president, Reggie Fils-Aime, made headlines today when again he denied that Nintendo was working on the Wii HD. He said, “I don’t know how forcefully we can say there is no Wii HD.” That’s pretty clear, but it’s also mostly a lie. What do you expect the man to say two months before Christmas? “Psst, don’t buy the $200 Wii for your kid this year. We’ve got something real special coming in a few months. You’re going to want that instead.”
Does anyone seriously ...
Nintendo Won't Commit To A 2010 Zelda [Zelda]
Kotaku —
... of America's Reggie Fils-Aime was quizzed on whether we'd see Zelda on the Wii next year. His response? Hedge-betting. "We haven't committed to Zelda in 2010" he told GTTV host Geoff Keighley. Which will obviously upset those keen enough to hope for Zelda in 2010, but also stupid enough to have expected a game that hasn't even been officially shown off yet to be out in the next year. Especially when it's a "proper" Zelda game, the last one of which took about 173 years to come out. [ Nintendo On GameTrailers TV ] Send an email to the author of this post at ...
Nintendo’s Mixed HD Messages
Edge Online - Interactive Entertainment Today —
... of SD or HD, it must depend on each software. For example, we have to ask ourselves if HD is really necessary to develop Wii Fit . Won't HD be better for the games like Pikmin ? The developers should choose the most appropriate graphical format depending on the software they make. To Nintendo, our theme is how we can prepare the SDK library to cater to the needs of the developers, with which the developers can more easily develop their games. However, speaking in an interview with Gametrailers , Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime strongly denied that a Wii HD is ...

Joystiq —
