The current Ion chip boasts 16 shaders, which effectively means that the Ion 2 will have a minimum of 32 shaders. The Ion-based computers available in the market now can pull off 1080p content but with double the shaders on the next gen rumored Ion chip, expect it to do it with ease.

Dubbed as ION 2, the new chipset will be smaller in size compared to first generation Ion chipset and will boast of faster graphics and much more shaders. According to Fudzilla, the Ion 2 will have more than 32 shaders. Expect NVIDIA to go official on this one by end of this year.
