They are made of plastic, unfortunately, and there's at least a few situations I can imagine involving the protruding shards of index finger bones. Still, for $20, wortyh a try. Finger Sockets Don’t Seem Very Useful

Not to mention the fact that unlike a socket wrench, there’s no room to allow the bolt to pass completely through the nut you are tightening.
