Dell Vostro A90: a netbook for the suits
CrunchGear — Dell has taken the Inspiron Mini 9 netbook and dressed it up for the business types. The innards are exactly the same as the pedestrian counterpart with an Intel 1.6 Atom CPU, 8GB SSD, 1GB of RAM and a 8.9-inch screen. So far the stark black netbook is announced only for the Japanese market and carries an astonishing high price of ¥92,830 ($999 USD), and unless this netbook fad takes off here in the States, chances are the Vostro A90 will stay over in Tomorrow Land. We don’t need another netbook here anyway.

Dell Vostro A90: Business class Inspiron Mini
Liliputing — ... a premium price for essentially the same machine. I can’t say I’m surprised. Netbooks are cheap laptops with low profit margins for computer manufacturers. The price wars that have brought down the prices even further over the last few months have been good for consumers, but companies like Dell are probably looking for ways to help bring the profits up while still continuing to pump out the low cost netboks that consumers appear to be clamoring for. via The Register

Dell price gouges Japanese business market for spray painted Mini Inspiron
Boing Boing Gadgets — ... black and white as it of course does, Dell has opted to rebrand the Mini Inspiron as the Vostro A90 in Japan. Everything else is the same. It still comes in black (although it's a blacker, more businessy black). It still has the same 1.6GHz Atom, the same 8GB storage drive, the same whatever. But price? Close to a thousand dollars. For a machine that, short of a spray of paint, goes for less than 400 in the same configuration. Ha! lolwhut? Engadget — ... We're no strangers to rebranded netbooks, but we're a little bufuddled as to why Dell's rebranding its own Inspiron Mini 9 as the Vostro A90. Sure, we're digging the stealth looks, but the specs haven't changed at all, and we don't think the Vostro brand really has any ...
