Wired: Gadget Lab — ... and problems: portable and convenient, yet cheap, plastic and all too delicate. Thomas O'Connor's concept design takes the retro disks and retrofits them with flash memory. The sliding metal gate becomes an optional flip-out stand and the spindle contains the obligatory blinking LED to let you know it's still working.
