Litl Webbook gets official: “cloud” netbook for $699
SlashGear —
Given that most netbook press releases look like photocopies of each other, we’re particularly intrigued by the Litl Webbook. Spotted last week whipping through the FCC, the Webbook is described by Litl as “an internet computer for the home” and uses a home-grown always-on OS; it can be used as a standard netbook or, flipped round, as a more passive TV device with an optional remote control and “TV style” control knob.
The Webbook has a 12-inch display, Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 2GB of flash storage, a GPU for accelerating ...

Litl Webbook: Kleine Ausstattung für 700 Dollar
Ausgefallene Gadgets & Geschenkideen —
‘Litl Webbook’ aims to blend portable computing with a TV-like experience
CrunchGear —
Here’s the “Litl Webbook,” a $699 portable computing device that acts as a laptop and then folds over on itself to act as a digital easel “ideal for passive or ‘lean back’ web activity like enjoying photos, listening to music, or consuming news, weather, and other web content,” according to a recent company press release.
The device uses a patented hinge to bend over backwards and expose the 12-inch screen in easel mode, and that same hinge contains a “scroll wheel for changing web ‘channels’.” Under the hood, there’s apparently a 1.86GHz Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, HDMI output, and 2GB of ...
Litl Webbook 12" netbook with always-on OS $699

... LCD display, Wireless, and HDMI.
The most interesting thing about this device is its operating system -- it features a home-grown operating system that stays on 24x7. Pretty good for people who just cannot leave without continuously checking what's cooking in the online world.
The only bad thing about this device is its pricing -- the Litl webbook is priced at $699 with $19 extra for an optional remote controller. Too steep for an internet-only machine.

New Netbook Twists to Fit in the Living Room
Wired: Gadget Lab —
It’s a netbook that can morph into a picture frame. Boston-based startup company Litl has launched a laptop that can be used straight up or flipped around so it can stand upright like an easel.
Called Webbook, the device has a 12-inch screen and a hinge that can pivot to change how the netbook looks. Twist it around and the device takes on the form factor of a picture frame than a traditional laptop.
“With its screen exposed, the Webbook is ideal for passive or lean back web activity like enjoying photos, listening to music, or consuming news, weather and other ...
Too Much For Too Litl?
InformationWeek - All Stories And Blogs —
... A Boston-based startup named Litl is taking a big risk: they're betting people will go for a netbook that sports a Linux-based OS and focuses on Web-/network-based productivity (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). The risk is in the pricetag: $700 -- almost twice the price of computers that can do twice as much. Is there a market for this? ...

The Gadgeteer —
There’s a new ‘WebBook’ on the market called Litl, and it’s a top-to-bottom operation that’s designing the whole widget with the philosophy of “The computer works for you ( not the other way around )”. Litl has designed both the hardware and the software with the web experience as the priority, and they call the resulting 3lbs beauty ‘Litl’. Besides it’s new OS, the high-end 12.1 LCD panel with a 178 degree viewing angle really sounds nice. Accompanying the awesome display is an Atom processor, 1GB of ram, 2GB of CompactFlash ...
