The 9700 is pretty much an improved and better looking BlackBerry Bold 9000. It runs BlackBerry OS 5.0 and it’s RIM’s second smartphone to have an optical trackpad (after the Curve 8520).
AT&T and T-Moible will both offer the Bold 9700 in the US. T-Mobile didn’t say how much its 9700 will cost, but AT&T plans to sell it for $199.99 on contract (after a $100 mail-in-rebate). You can register your interest either on AT&T’s website, or on T-Mobile’s.

For one it will have Wi-Fi capability and the T-Mobile model will be the first BlackBerry to allow voice calling over Wi-Fi. The Bold 9700 will also sport a respectable 3.2 megapixel camera and a pretty high resolution screen. As expected it will come loaded with OS 5.0 and the speed/performance have been upgraded from the original Bold. No word on an official release date but we do now that we can expect the new Bold 9700 sometime in November.

US will get the device via T-Mobile while rest of the world can expect local carriers to launch it by November.
