Acer’s 10 inch netbook will come with Windows, Linux, HDD, and SSD options
Liliputing —
... One as on the original.
While the 8.9 inch Acer Aspire One came with an option of a hard drive or an 8GB or 16GB SSD, Acer plans to offer the new models with just a 16GB SSD and eliminate the second SD card slot that was included in the original model as a way to add extra space for the operating system.
In related news, Acer held a launch event for the new computers in Tokyo and Akihabara News snapped a few photos including the one you see above.

Larger Acer Netbook Gains Linux, SSD; Loses Useful SD Slot
jkOnTheRun —
... 160GB hard drive available in a Windows XP configuration. The SSD capacity will be 16GB and you’d better hope that’s enough: Acer says they’re removing the second SD card reader slot that the first AAO had. Pity, because the prior device used software to make an SD card transparently look like additional hard drive storage. It’s actually one of the few differentiating factors between Acer’s 8.9-inch netbook and many others.
