Acer Aspire Timeline range hits US from $598

Acer’s Timeline range of ultraportable notebooks has been priced for the US, and whereas we were expecting a starting price of around $699 Acer are actually delivering a $598 entry-level machine. That gets you the 15.6-inch Timeline with Intel’s 1.3GHz Pentium SU2700 and 3GB of DDR3 RAM; if you want one of the 14-inch or 13.3-inch models budget $699.99 or $899.99 accordingly.
Both of those have 4GB of DDR3 memory, Intel’s GMA 4500MHD graphics and at least three USB 2.0 ports. The 13.3 and 15.6-inch models have HDMI ports, the 13.3-inch also gets Bluetooth 2.0 and a 500GB hard-drive, while the others make do with 320GB.

Acer has a new kid on the block in it’s Timeline series of notebooks, just announced today and touted with an average battery life of eight hours.
